Glynde Hotel Schnitty Report

Atmosphere: 7/10 – Has been doneup at some point in the past 10 years, but this was definitely cheap renovations. The  tables are small four people should adequately fit on the table, however due to the ridiculous amount of extras on the table it’s hard to actually eat. The number of menus, cutlery, square plates, side square plate, extra butter knife, etc. There is literally no room left to put you drinks. Here’s a tip, when you go to get salad and veg don’t use another plate as there is no room for it on the table.
Staff: 5/10 – Well I’d like to say friendly and professional, but in this situation I can’t. The register was being run by the owner or manager of the place and she rules with an iron fist. Don’t try to order something a bit curly because it will just completely stuff her up. And she tends to treat her staff pretty badly demanding drinks to tables immediately.
Prices: 8/10 – The schnitty was $15.95, but as we had the Entertainment book vouchers it was half price. Which is pretty darn good for a schnitty if you ask me. Also it includes your choice of sauce and as a bonus you don’t have to pay extra if you want parmi. Mon-Wed are also schitty nights where the schnitty is $13.95. I can’t comment if the portion size is smaller on these nights as we dined on a Thursday.
Size: 8/10 – well this schnitty was a perfect size. Good thckness of chicken, and enough room for chips on the side. There is a hot veggie bar (one of my favourites, extra points), and also a salad bar and free bread rolls. This is all included in the price of the meal. So overall you’re able to load up on all that extra stuff and turn this into a feast. But even without the extras the schnitty was a good size which you’d expect from any local pub.
Taste: 8/10 – Was real chicken breast too which was a delightful surprise. It tasted excellent. I chose the good old standard of mushroom sauce. The amount of mushrooms were excellent and also to my delight the mushrooms were fresh and not just a dodgy can of champignons dumped in a bucket of gravy. Overall the schnitty itself was a very tasty meal. My only disappointment is that they try to be too upmarket by serving it on a square plate. Which at such a down to earth pub is just not needed.
Chips: 8/10 – Nice chips, standard size, shape and colour. The portion size was perfect, and if you needed an extra potato injection there are roast potatoes in the hot veggie bar. This was not required however as the amount of chips was adequate.
Overall rating: 8/10 – Great pub, not overly busy. Good value and a huge portion size. Remember your entertainment voucher. You will not go hungry here.

Good place to eat, front bar is a no go! Fantastic salad bar, will give it that one, chicken parmigiana wasnt too shabby either. The service was a little slow to start with, but got better as the night went on.

The food was fairly priced and had a great salad and veggie bar. The service was a little poor and the napkins looked cheap.
A good place to eat but dont go there to drink as I dont rate the front bar at all. It looks very cheap and a waste of space.
